Microscope No. 38 optics

There are five lenses in this microscope;

A: The eyepiece has two plano-convex lenses.

B: Field lens

C: The Between Lens

D: objective lens

This objective has the "between-lens" (C, diameter=18mm, f=7.8cm) of Benjamin Martin, in addition to the typical biconvex objective lens (D, diameter=10mm; f=3.2cm). The objective aperture is 4mm.

The nosepiece is marked for Lieberkuhn reflector positions

Eyepiece lenses. This is the Ramsden configuration with the curved surfaces facing inward.
