The circular mirror (dia=5.5cm) is single-sided. It pivots via brass wingnuts on either side of the box. The mirror's silver plating has corroded with age.
The cardboard body tube is covered with unstained fish skin. Top and bottom pieces are turned ivory.
The objective is a single bi-convex lens placed in a Lignum Vitae mount.
The sample holder is unusually massive (for the instrument). The two spring holders on top hold the sample.
